Only a 12 minute walk from the bustling heart of Victoria’s Inner Harbour, our heritage home is located 8 blocks directly behind the British Columbia Parliament Buildings and the Royal BC Museum. So close to the heart of our famous Inner Harbour you will be amazed by the quiet tranquility of the location of our home.

After spending the day discovering the secrets of our beautiful city there really is nothing like coming home. Come home, drop the bags and briefcase, put on the walking shoes, and discover the seaside paths and beaches just one block from the house. Squinting at the sun glinting off the water, breathe in those rejuvenating ocean ions, let the scenery soothe your soul, it will refresh any weary travelers spirit.

We are so fortunate to have Ashcroft House B&B and live in James Bay, downtown Victoria, BC. I know you'll love our fabulous location, truly the best of both worlds, but you really should read it from others that have discovered our tranquil, seaside, park side, downtown Victoria, piece of Vancouver Island heaven.

Your comfort is our focus at Ashcroft House. A Bed and Breakfast by nature of it's name provides a place to rest and breakfast to start the day; we invite you to experience our interpretation of your B&B experience! This is not to say you won't enjoy curling up on our comfy sofa in the sunroom with a good book, or warming by the fireplace in our parlor with a truffle or cookie, we just really want you to enjoy our bedrooms as well! The Bed; you know the - one that you can truly sink into, wrap yourself in comfort, not really wanting to get out of it in the morning - kind of bed. A bed that is an experience in itself, the beds found in the rooms at Ashcroft House. Dressed with soft 100% cotton sheets, fluffy down duvets and microfleece blankets, your biggest decision will be whether you want to curl up with extra pillows and watch TV or continue the next page in your book.

All of our rooms are carefully set with your comfort and convenience in mind, cozy robes, cotton towels, comfy beds, televisions, wireless, coffee and tea, hairdryers etc. We are happy to provide any other amenities requested such as an iron and board, fresh milk for your coffee, we even have spare toothbrushes should you discover your packing was not quite as organized as you had thought! But please take some time to enjoy the rest of the house as well, there are several books on Victoria, it's buildings, it's characters, it's history, it's gardens, and of course Vancouver Island itself, you will discover why we love our little piece of the west coast so much, and why so many call us Victoria Island, BC. Of course the best room in the house is our breakfast room where we spoil you with our spectacular 4 course mornings and maybe a chance to learn about other's discoveries of Victoria so you can plan the perfect day.

Ah breakfast! The most important meal of the day, it tastes even better when someone makes it for you and you have the luxury of time to enjoy every mouthful. We create our 4-course morning especially for you, a true feast for the senses and the tummy. As you wander down to our brightly windowed breakfast room after a great nights sleep, you'll find our tables set with fresh juice, healthy nut & seed muesli, granola, and yogurt; course number one.

I look forward to wishing you a good morning and pouring a hot cup of our dark French roast coffee or if you prefer brew a pot of one of our variety of teas. By now you should have the smell of the scones filtering out from the oven but you'll have to wait a bit for those, course number two will have arrived, a dish of fresh cut fruit, everyday a new combination of 2 or 3 ripe sweet fruits. OK, a quick coffee refill and I know the smell of the scones coming out of the oven is more than anyone can take. I bake fresh scones, muffins, or breakfast loaves for your enjoyment, carefully trying to not repeat myself so you will have a new taste treat each and every breakfast. But wait now, save room for the hot plate that we vary every day between a savory or sweet selection; putting our creative touches on the traditional, once again trying our best to give you a new taste treat on all your Ashcroft mornings. Resist that last scone and dig into our scrumptious full breakfast plate – those scones will make a wonderful afternoon snack!
